Agoge (Ah-GO-Gi). In Ancient Sparta, the agoge was a rigorous education and training regime for Spartan youth. Inspired by the discipline and devotion of the Spartans our club has been established to help promote the most ancient of all sports, wrestling. While focused on competitive improvement for all of our wrestlers, our program also works hard to keep it fun for the kids. This program is possible through a community partnership between the Hayes-Taylor YMCA and UNCG. Practices are held on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:15 - 7:30PM at the home of the UNCG Spartans in the UNCG wrestling room. The wrestling room is located in the Health and Human Performance Building. For athletes ages 5 and up. Initial registration fee is $65 for two months. $15 per month after initial registration. Feel free to try us out! The first practice is free.
